Australian Temporary Visa Holders Receive Good News

You are here: Home > Worldwide Migration Partners > Australian Temporary Visa Holders Receive Good News

2020-04-07 by Worldwide Migration Partners

Good news for Australian temporary visa holders with the announcement of the new pathway via Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) visa.

The Department of Home Affairs has announced the introduction of a new pathway available under the Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) Visa. Within the stream of ‘Australian Government endorsed events’, a new event has been included named COVID-19 Pandemic.

This stream has been designed to assist Australian temporary visa holders who:

  • Have a visa that is due to expire;
  • Are unable to apply for any other visa in Australia;
  • Cannot travel offshore due to COVID-19 restrictions; and
  • Have the skills or abilities to assist Australia in critical sectors, such as healthcare, childcare and agriculture during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applicants may only apply for the Temporary Activity Visa (Subclass 408) if their current visa is due to expire in 28 days, or their visa has expired within the last 28 days.

If you're an Australian temporary visa holder and your visa is shortly due to expire or has expired already, please don’t hesitate to contact Worldwide Migration Partners for a fast-tracked eligibility assessment.
